1st Journey

Acts 13:1-14:26

Note on the waypoint pins:
All pins are clickable, containing information (and images, if they dont't include a camera/binocular icon. With other words, a camera/binocular icon  indicates that an image upload is pending).

  • Black pins: Only places marked with black pins are mentioned in Acts or in the Pauline Epistles in connention with St. Paul's journeys.

  • Red pins: Various kinds of sites on ancient roads or paths which used to connect the mentioned (black pinned) Pauline places. They aid to the reconstruction of the most probable route. Some of them show a hiker icon, one literally walks on St. Paul's steps once there, since the road section or path is preserved around these points.

  • Orange pins: Various kinds of sites on alternative/less probable route segments.

  • Blue pins: Places of interest (POIs), close (or not so close) to the route, directly or indirectly connected to it. Spiritual and historical echoes of St. Paul passing though the area or just very interesting sites one shouldn't miss while tracing the apostle's steps in the region with a bit more time at disposal. They are not shown by default, the corresponding POIs layer must be activated on the map first.

  • Dark red pins: They mark panoramic viewpoints over a section of the route. They are the only ones marked with a binocular instead of a camera icon, if the image upload is pending. Otherwise they show a vista icon. They usually offer breathtaking and/or informative views, which help understand sections of the route much better.
